Back-To-School Carpooling Tips: Organize and Stay Safe

Our dealership is always concerned with the safety of young children when they are transported to and from school. If you would like to start a back-to-school carpool to save time and get involved in the community, we have some great tips to help you stay organized.

Start your carpool with an idea of how many children will be riding. Consider how many seats are available in the vehicles to be used. Let parents know about safety rules with booster seats and children under 13 not being allowed as a front-seat passenger.

Schedule your carpool, so that each parent is responsible for a certain day. If they pick up and drop off on the same day, the kids can leave booster seats in the car while they are at school.

Have the children wait at the same spot on a curb to be picked up. They should also have a schedule, route information, and a calendar. Parents should be provided with a list of rules and emergency contact information for each child.

If you would like more information about carpooling, come to take a test drive at DCH Honda of Mission Valley in San Diego, CA and our sales staff will be glad to help!
