In a press release from yesterday, Honda reported the commencement of production of the all-new 2017 Ridgeline pickup truck at the Honda Manufacturing of Alabama (HMA) plant. More than 1,500 associates of the HMA plant were on hand to celebrate the exciting occasion. The HMA plant will be the sole manufacturer of the exciting and convention-challenging pickup. The 3.7-million-square-foot plant is located in Lincoln, Alabama and is capable of producing more than 340,000 vehicles and engines every year.
Honda wanted the Ridgeline to stand out from the crowd in the midsize truck segment, so with this in mind, the Ridgeline will launch with several features never before seen on the market. The Ridgeline is the ideal vehicle for tailgate parties thanks to class-exclusive features such as an In-Be Trunk, Dual Action tailgate, and the first Truck Bed Audio system in the industry.
In addition to class-leading space in the cabin and flat bed, the Ridgeline also offers a unibody construction, sophisticated chassis, and available i-VTM4™ torque-vectoring AWD system. All of these combine to deliver the segment's best handling, ride quality, cabin quietness, and all-weather traction capabilities.
"Today we celebrate the dedication of our Alabama team in bringing a very innovative new pickup truck to market," said Jeff Tomko, president of HMA. "I congratulate all of our associates for their commitment to our customers as the Ridgeline returns with new features that will deliver even more of what today's truck customers want and need."
